Another rainy day at the Fort Wilderness Docks.

And not suprising… wet day in the Magic Kingdom too

And then we headed home…. sad

Disney vacation – Oct 8th

Good bye Hotel

Goodbye Hotel room

Hello Tropical Storm…

It’s like everyone is wearing the cult outfit of the rain sect…

Mariachi Band over at the Mexico Pravillion.  They were playing inside since it was pouring outside

DELICIOUS!!!! Check out my full review of the Mexico Tequila Tastings plus Lunch Review on my “professional” blog.

Dinner table layout and menu  for the tasting… anyone else know how to “Foolow”?

And more rain… Didn’t stop people from coming out to try all the booths.  Even if most of them were half covered up to protect form the wind and rain.

Although the rain was no match for a nice fresh hot Funnel cake.  It’ll warm a chilly person up real quick.

More rain, and people trying to get form place to place in it.

Biergarten Restaurant Pager not found

Mount Everest’s big drop

Line for Kali River Rapids

And more from the line…

Heading down the Kali River Rapids.

Lunch/snack at Yakima & Yeti Local Food Cafes. Some Asian chicken and a margarita.

BBQ Ribs and Chicken over at Flame Tree. Replaced the coleslaw with grapes.

Animal Kingdom

Starts pouring on our way out of the park and over to Magic Kingdom.  Luckily most of the rain disappears by the time we get there….. for a while at least.

Headed over to the Jungle Cruise, but had to take some pictures of the Tiki Drums.

Nothing like some Cheesy Fries from Pecos Bills to warm up a cold body!

Astro Orbitors over looking the park

Had dinner over at the brewer on the Boardwalk. The beer cheese soup was lighter than that of Canada but still quite good.

The burger however… wasn’t bad… but wasn’t all that spectacular.  Price was reasonable for it though.

20111003-084524.jpgkaluha and frangelico iced lattes. Mmmm

20111003-084631.jpgonly place to get in the parks. Well fresh coffee at least.

20111003-084801.jpg‎2 nachos, a cheese empanadas platter & a carne taco platter. Plus a total of 14 margaritas. Total cost? Over $180. Cost to us? Following the Disney blogosphere. Yay for free food. Thank you touringplans.com. Margaritas included classic, blood orange, passion fruit, and something blue… Was also jalapeño but none of us tried that one.

20111003-084838.jpgahi tuna burger. Like eating a sushi sandwich delicious. At the fountain at the dolphin.

day 1
We got down to Orlando about 11:40 and headed over to the parks via Magical Express. Tonight we are staying with my folks at Fort Wilderness. Little trick that let us use magic express even though The Swan and Dolphin don’t.

20111002-072629.jpgThe first place we headed to was Magic Kingdom. Today marks their 40th anniversary having opened Oct 1 1971. Do they had special maps, ceremonies, and even an “enhanced” Wishes fireworks.

20111002-072650.jpgWhen we got there the Celebrate parade was going on. Wish spurred the fact last time i missed out on eating at Tortuga Tavern because we watched it and by the time it was over the restaurant closed. So while it was going on we went over for some lunch. The Sulla are a bit more small than I remember and they seem to be cooking them well past where they should be… But still very tasty.

20111002-072707.jpgNext we headed to pirates. Wow is it busy. Luckily we must have got right before the parade crowds made it over cause as soon as we got in line the place got packed. This is a picture from the entry inside. All the rows as far back as it goes was open and in use. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen that.

20111002-072721.jpgnext was splash mountain. Took a picture of the ride photo.

20111002-072734.jpgNot bad for a leisurely day. Very packed parks. Did a few rides, and skipped others due to the crowds. Not going to do a while trip report on these. More just commentary on the pictures.

20111002-074855.jpgwe did though have dinner at Trail’s End. Callista decided to take a picture of me. Hence the shaky image.
